| Introductions |
When home stay began we were petrified!!! It was hard to imagine what it was going to be like living in the home of strangers. We did not know if we would be able to communicate with them (we don't speak much Spanish!) or they with us. Night 1 was very tense, but with much gesturing, a mix of French and Spanish and English, the help of a Spanish dictionary, and our truly a amazing 11 year old translator we survived.

By day 2 we were much more relaxed. We knew we could survive and we could speak fairly well. Dinner conversation actually flowed really well, much to our surprise. It was our second and last with the family and we had a little gift for each family member. Their excitement in having an Australian souvenir was so fantastic!
Tennille is seriously considering packing Cecilia, the daughter in our home stay family, into her bag and taking her home. I don't think we would have survived without her!!! The experience of home stay has been amazing and we are proud of the way we have adapted to the experience.

I'm very pleased you enjoyed your home stay but you can't bring the daughter home because looking after Honey is enough for us LOL.
